For those of you that don’t know, the Bridge is designed to help the 5th and 6th graders get adjusted to middle school and make that difficult transition a little smoother. It is also helping them know how Surge (7th and 8th Grade) and Fusion (High School) ministries will work in regards to core groups and the format. The curriculum we use is a tool to discuss some of the difficult choices that they will face as pre-teens and give them the Godly advice they need to prepare them.
After some fun time which includes kickball, football or Wii games, we starting to shift towards our core groups. Core groups are our time where we break up into grade levels separating the boys and the girls to have time to talk about challenges that face 5th and 6th graders. We try to have smaller groups so that the conversations can give everyone time to share.
